Instead, relax into truly being yourself.
Here is a liberating thought:
You are already enough. You have amazing strengths.
Stop working so hard to be someone else.
Instead, lean into being your best self.
Nancy: I remember what it was like when I was always striving to be better, to be enough, to succeed. What did all that pressure give me? Headaches, tight muscles, unhappiness. There was always more to do and I couldn’t feel the joy of accomplishing any task. I wasn’t very present to people and whatever I was doing.
Consider this, thinking in percentages:
How much happier might I have been, if I had been less pressured, more relaxed?
How much better do you think the finished product could have been?
How might the experience of those around me have improved?
So instead of pressuring yourself this year, how about
Truly be yourself! You are cool. You are enough.
